Responsible for assisting residents in all aspects of daily living, to ensure their physical, psychological and social needs are met and that the comfort and safety of the resident is maintained. Level of care or assistance will vary with each resident. The following duties and responsibilities shall be conducted in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines of the facility, always respecting residents’ rights.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Performs all duties in accordance with the Mission and Vision Statement and adhere to all policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of the facility in regard to: infection control; health and safety; personnel practices; internal and external emergencies; residents’ rights and confidentiality.

· Provides or Assists with the bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding requirements of residents;

· Participate in meal service in the dining room by assisting with serving and clean up of meals;

· Administer designated treatments under the direction of Registered Nursing Staff;

· Transport residents to and from meals and activities as appropriate;

· Make beds;

· Maintain tidiness in residents’ rooms;

· Ambulates, mobilizes and transfers residents according to care plan;

· Skin care, turning and positioning residents;

· Transfer residents using a mechanized lift as required;

Qualifications and Skills

· Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate;

· Read, write and understand to follow/carry-out instructions in English independently;

· Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills;

· Be able to physically perform the duties and responsibilities assigned.

Pay: $27.21-$29.46 per hour
