Position Summary:
The Parts Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of parts procurement, inventory, and coordination between the shop, mechanics, and vendors. This role is essential in ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to support field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess work order completion and ensure timely follow-up
- Order and track parts and shop supplies
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records
- Approve incoming invoices related to parts and supplies
- Audit deliveries to verify accuracy and quality
- Coordinate closely with mechanics for repair timelines and needs
- Communicate updates and issues with management regarding project or equipment status
- Manage subscriptions and service agreements related to shop operations
- Supervise daily shop activities and dispatch mechanics to job sites as needed
- Liaise with vendors for pricing, availability, and service terms
- Perform additional duties as required to support the efficiency of the shop
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in parts management, preferably in a construction or heavy equipment setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in inventory software and basic computer skills
- Knowledge of heavy truck and equipment components is an asset
- Valid driver’s license preferred
