The STAR Family Health Team is seeking a Part-Time Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to support our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

The STAR Family Health Team provides comprehensive primary health care services to two clinics in Stratford, and one clinic in Tavistock and Region (STAR). About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with clients• Managing scheduling and updating clientappointments • Handling patient inquiries and referrals• Assisting clients in identifying and navigating community-based resources that would benefit them• Consulting and working in collaboration with our clinicians and other community partners/resources• Be an advocate for care and supports• Assisting with scanning, filing, and data entry in our Telus PSS electronic medical records (EMR) system• Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks• Understand and ensure patient confidentiality and discretion at all times
This is a permanent part-time position 3 hours/day Monday-Friday preferably in the morning.
What You Bring
- Medical Office Administration certificate/diploma considered an asset• Experience working in a medical office or clinical setting (preferred)• Excellent active listening skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including phone and email etiquette• Compassionate and respectful of those with challenges• Comfort or confidence in assertiveness skills in setting boundaries and limits• Knowledge of local community resources, or a willingness to learn• Comfort working with electronic medical records (EMRs)—experience with PS Suite is an asset• Aptitude with new technologies for the purpose of scheduling (ie. Zoom, OceanMD) • Strong organizational and multitasking skills• A team-oriented attitude and a genuine interest in patient care• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite• Background of working with people in, for example, a medical, social service or educational setting
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.50-$21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
