Seeking Part-Time Medical Office Administrative Assistant
Part-time (Ideal for a student)
Requirements:
- Medical Office Assistant experience preferred but not required
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Computer literacy
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday evenings weekly, Friday evenings twice per month and occasional Saturday mornings twice per month
Additional casual daytime and evening hours are available.
Computer Applications:Telus Practice Solutions EMR, MS Word, MS Excel, Electronic mail. The successful candidate will be trained in the use of Telus Practice Solutions if no previous experience is present.
Transportation/Travel Information:Own transportation, public transportation is available. The office is located close to Merivale and Meadowlands Roads in Ottawa. Parking is available.
General Duties:
- Handling and answering external and internal phone calls and transferring calls to the appropriate departments in a professional manner
- Managing patient's appointments, according to the doctor's schedule
- Communicating test results to patients when required
- Assisting with scanning/processing faxes as needed
- Additional duties may be assigned based on skill-set, experience and need
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will require excellent organizational, time management and communication skills to complete the required tasks within this busy office environment.
All employees are expected to demonstrate an up-to-date immunization record. An annual influenza vaccine is required, and documentation will be requested on an annual basis. Complete Covid-19 vaccination (including appropriate booster doses) is required based on current Public Health Guidelines
