Job Purpose
The Painter applies primer, base coat or clear coat as directed to the parts being produced. They ensure that the coverage applied is adequate, and that the equipment used is cleaned and cared for appropriately at the end of their shift.
Duties
- Follows all Select Finishing health and safety policies and procedures and manufacturer instructions, including using appropriate PPE for tasks assigned.
- Follows direction of Paint Team Leader in assigned area.
- Conduct detailed inspections of parts when they arrive and when they leave the booth for adequate coverage to ensure QC standards are met.
- Apply primer, base coat or clear coat to parts being produced using best spray method for part type; turn/swivel racks as needed to ensure adequate coverage.
- Leave paint booths and equipment in good repair and ready for daily use at end of shift.
- Report to Paint Team Leader any equipment failures or potential failures immediately.
- Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness and order of paint booth.
- Follow the work instructions and report any discrepancies to Paint Team Leader.
- Recommend any improvements that might help out in the production.
- Report all health and safety concerns or incidents to the Paint Team Lead
