Job Description:
We are looking to hire an experienced full-time Operations Supervisor for our London, Ontario terminal. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day-to-day warehouse/office operations, to make certain of a best practices approach. NB: This role embodies an exceptional career opportunity for a person familiar with a variety of transportation vehicles, equipment, service requirements, and transport legislation.
Shift:
Afternoons: 3:00PM to 11:30PM Monday to Friday
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handing out & distributing assignments to the warehouse staff.
- Coaching and counselling warehouse staff to overcome any barriers affecting productivity.
- Assist the Operations Manager to ensure that the warehouse/office is adequately staffed and that personnel are properly trained to carry out their work in a safe and competent manner.
- Work with the employees to ensure a safe work environment consistent with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, budget targets and contribute to the growth of the company in a pro-active manner.
- Work closely with customer service to provide the best possible service for our customers.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience – leading people, product scheduling etc.
- Well-organized, punctual, and computer literate—with an emphasis on spreadsheets and email applications.
- Previous experience within the Warehouse/Transportation/Logistics Industry.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Proven problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve operational goals.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle several complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to take ownership of issues and problem analysis, decision making and resolution.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and courteously with other staff.
