Job Overview:
Combined Petroleum Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Oil Trader to join our trading desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for trading crude oil and refined petroleum products in both local and international markets. This role requires deep market insight, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage trading risk effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and forecast crude oil and refined products (e.g., gasoline, diesel, jet fuel) prices and market trends.
Develop and implement profitable trading strategies and identify trading opportunities.
Trade crude oil and refined products (e.g., gasoline, diesel, jet fuel) in physical and/or derivatives markets.
Negotiate contracts and deal terms.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, and shipping agents.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
Coordinate with operations, logistics, finance, and risk management teams to ensure smooth trade execution.
Collaborate with the risk management team to mitigate financial risks
Prepare reports on trading activity and market conditions
Monitor and manage trading positions, exposures, and profit & loss (P&L) performance.
Attend industry events, forums, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of oil and energy markets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Energy Trading, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in oil trading or commodity markets.
Strong knowledge of global oil markets, trading principles, and risk management practices.
Experience with trading platforms such as Eikon, Platts, Argus, ICE, or Bloomberg.
Solid analytical, mathematical, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in international trading and shipping logistics.
Familiarity with physical and paper markets.
Multilingual proficiency (e.g., English, Arabic, French) is an advantage.
Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards in energy markets.
