Overall Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling all overnight duties at the Front Desk including guest check-ins, check-outs and responding to guest enquiries.
- Complete Night Audit procedures per hotel operating systems and procedure manual.
- Prepare and balance all the daily reports of the hotel.
- Become familiar with all hotel facilities and services actively promote the Hotel to customers at all times.
- Comply with all hotel health and safety and fire and threat procedures.
- Ensure the efficient running of the night operations.
- Prepare the night audit package and ensure that all the monies are secured in a proper manner.
- Must be able to liaise with clients and staff and act upon any queries, complaints and compliments received and to take corrective action if necessary.
- Become familiar with all promotions and/or current programs
- Nightly duties including restock lobby market, maintain guest coffee and tea services in lobby and other tasks as required by Supervisor or General Manager.
- Post and balance charges in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare food and beverage reports nightly.
- Operates computer equipment and reservations system.
- Run daily end of shift audit reports and complete daily shift audit
- Assist with Front Desk’s daily tasks (Call around, Reports, Checking incoming Faxes, etc.)
- Any other reasonable requests as made by the Front Desk Supervisor, Duty Manager, and General Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of accounting operations.
- High school diploma, the ideal candidate will possess 2 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of using computer software. (OPERA, OUTLOOK)
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
- Must be able to maintain a professional manner under stressful situations
- Provide friendly, efficient and hospitable service at the front desk.
- Present a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and be in proper uniform at all times
- Available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
