Position Overview
As a Medical Office Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare professionals. You will provide administrative and clinical support to psychiatrists and psychologists, ensuring smooth clinic operations and a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
- Schedule and confirm appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate referrals
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and manage correspondence
- Prepare, maintain, and organize electronic medical records (EMR) Accuro
- Process patient intake forms and ensure accurate data entry
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations
- Support general clinic operations, including filing, inventory, and office organization
Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a medical or mental health clinic is an asset
- Proficiency in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and general computer skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Compassion, professionalism, and discretion when working with sensitive information
