Canada After School Group is a fast-growing year-round learning centre for kids in JK through to Grade 12. It offers a variety of subjects including English, Math, French, Art, etc.
Note: This is an onsite position and all teachers are required to teach in-person class on our campus. Teachers are welcome to teach on both of our campuses - North York campus and Markham campus.
The Role:
Preference will be given to instructors who can work a minimum of 3 to 5 days per week during our after-school (Monday to Friday 4pm - 8pm) and weekend centre hours(Saturdays and Sundays 9am-6pm). Instructors must be available to teach in-person from our centre location.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct each class in a detailed and structured manner, with student growth and understanding as the main goal
- Strong classroom management and teaching techniques specific to Math instruction Grade 1 to Grade 8 and High School
- Understanding of the education industry as a whole, with a passion for innovation and creativity
- Approach each day and class with a student growth mindset
- Collaborate and interact with the CASG team in a professional and academically stimulating manner
- Differentiate instruction and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor degree from University
- Able to teach Math from Grades 1 to 12
- OCT certified Preferably (or in the process of doing so)
- Prior experience coaching students in relevant math competitions (e.g., Math Kangaroo, AMC) is required.
- Primary, Junior, or Intermediate Certified
- Previous Canada&North America teaching and/or tutoring experience (2+ years is preferred)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Demonstrated passion for the growth, development and overall learning for all students.
