Looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for a Manager, Project Technical Assurance to join our team!
What You Will Do
- The Manager of Project Technical Assurance reports to the Deputy Chief Project Manager.
- This role ensures the seamless integration and handover of all Major Projects to TTC Systems Operations.
- The manager is involved early and continuously throughout each project, providing technical guidance and support.
- They collaborate with TTC Operations to ensure projects are maintainable and fully integrated with existing systems such as track, traction power, communications, signals, and train control.
- The manager ensures that all systems are fully operational at the point of handover and supports TTC Operations in developing revised resource plans and assessing operating budget impacts.
- They provide subject matter expertise in track engineering, signal and systems integration, building systems integration, and operations and maintenance coordination.
- The manager oversees acceptance and handover processes and supports the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), including tools such as OpenBuildings Designer (MicroStation) and Revit (AutoCAD).
- They work closely with Project Directors, Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers to ensure that projects are constructable, maintainable, and ready for operational use.
- The manager collaborates with project teams to develop and execute testing, commissioning, and handover plans, including checklists, schedules, and training materials for TTC Operating groups.
- They coordinate with TTC Operating groups to ensure any necessary updates to operational procedures are made for the smooth transition of new assets.
- The manager reviews and provides input on the constructability of project designs, including staging and phasing plans, from concept through to construction and handover.
- They work with TTC’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team to ensure all required asset information—such as maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and supplier documentation—is collected and delivered.
- The manager develops, modifies, or adopts TTC processes and procedures to support the timely and seamless transfer of newly constructed assets into the operational environment.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g., engineering, business), combined with extensive experience in project management, project controls, engineering, or construction.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in quality assurance and design integration for infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage quality and interface management programs for complex projects.
- Experience working with integrated systems in transit and facilities environments, including testing, commissioning, and handover of large-scale facilities.
- Background in constructing transit-oriented facilities, ideally within active operating environments.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, processes, and procedures.
- Familiarity with engineering and construction standards and practices.
- Able to read and interpret procurement documents and technical drawings, including as-builts, IFCs, foreign prints, and shop drawings.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues, think critically, and recommend solutions to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership, team collaboration, and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Sound judgment and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and other relevant software.
