Job Overview
We’re looking for a reliable and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, shows up on time every shift, and maintains a positive attitude - speaking respectfully to co-workers and management. Along with preparing dishes during service, our Line Cooks also take on prep work during slower periods to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
NOTE: Must be available Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday every week.
Duties
- Memorize recipes, procedures, and standard portion sizes.
- Set up and stock the line with food ingredients, utensils, and other necessary supplies.
- Accurately produce food and drink to-order in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure food orders are prepared and timed correctly, and with urgency.
- Prepare sauces and ingredients for recipes, by chopping, shredding, weighing and blending.
- Package and label meals and products for the retail market.
- Prepare catering orders by following recipes and instructions.
- Take direction from supervisors, work well independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to speak, write and easily understand English.
- Perform inventory checks and order fresh produce.
- Always follow food safety guidelines when handling, preparing, or storing food.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including completion of tasks from the cleaning list.
- Rinse dishes and use a commercial dishwashing machine (during times when the dishwasher is not on shift).
- Complete any other relevant tasks that may arise, as needed.
Experience
- Two years previous experience working as a line cook is required.
- Familiarity with cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is expected.
