Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Line Cook to join our team at the University of Winnipeg. The ideal candidate has strong kitchen skills, works well in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about food and teamwork. You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of menu items, following health and safety protocols, and supporting an inclusive kitchen culture.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals to Diversity’s quality standards and portion guidelines
- Follow recipes and food preparation procedures
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
- Assist with prep and special events as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years kitchen experience preferred (but we’re willing to train the right candidate)
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures (Food Handler Certification is an asset)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and work well under pressure
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Availability for flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
