Summary of Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a Lead Hand Room Attendant who has a passion for excellence to assist lead our Laundry team. Reporting to the Director of housekeeping and Laundry of the Marriott on the Falls, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to:
- To provide assistance in leading and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Laundry Department.
- Assist management in and motivating and coaching Laundry Associates; serve as a role model.
- Actively participate in daily briefing and departmental meetings.
- Ensuring the Laundry Attendants are informed daily about priorities in their section.
- Maintain accurate records of items laundered. Verify that laundry requests are completed for each department.
- Replenish laundry supplies. Monitor levels in chemical containers to ensure chemicals are being dispensed and notify supervisor/manager of potential pump problem.
- Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
- Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard. Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management.
- Must be a team player and a self-starter, with the ability to effectively work independently as required.
- Knowledge of a Laundry Department is an asset.
- A passion for guest service and the proven ability for consistently anticipating guest needs.
- Professional, well organized, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to take on work and projects and see them through completion.
- Approachable: Establishes immediate creditability with guests and associates – leads all associates by example
- Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly ensuring that Marriott Laundry cleanliness standards are maintained at all times
- Demonstrated commitment and passion to maximizing guest service satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience, particularly as they pertain to exceptional standards of cleanliness and order
- Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Must have excellent written and communication skills
- Must be computer literate -proficient in Microsoft office and excel
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
