Summary of Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a skilled and detailed- orientated individual to join our team in a dual role as a Overnight General Maintenance Technician /Laundry Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be handling routine maintenance tasks, as well as ensuring Laundry facility is run efficiently and linen standards are consistently met.
Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping at the Marriott on the Falls, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to for:
General Maintenance Technician
- Preform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various laundry equipment, including the press, washing machine and dryers.
- Conduct safety inspections in laundry services and ensure all equipment meets health and safety standards.
- Assist in record keeping and keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Promptly respond to Laundry emergency repair requests, and minimize downtime.
- Complete various other related maintenance duties assigned by Management.
- Operate and monitor the washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, and cleaning lint traps
- Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash or discard; loading and unloading washing machines and dryers
- Feed the machine with linen; inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts
- Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load; remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap each load
- Fold, sorting and shelving laundry items.
- Maintain accurate records of items laundered; feed and operate the press; fold all blankets, duvets, mattress covers, towels, bath towels, hand towels, facecloths, and bath manually and place on the appropriate shelves
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry room such as vacuuming, dusting and sweeping; follow all Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulations
- Completing various duties assigned by your manager or supervisor
- Must a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance or laundry repair.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Must have excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work overnight from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
