Job Purpose
As a Junior Underwriter, you'll update information in the Broker Management System and contact underwriters to discuss guidelines and policies. You'll stay current on underwriting rules and workflow processes, input data into computerized databases, import/export data between software, and verify the accuracy and completeness of data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process policy changes, uploads, and cancellations.
- Ensure accurate updates are made in the Broker Management System.
- Engage with underwriters to discuss and clarify guidelines and policies as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting rules and workflow processes.
- Accurately input data into computerized databases and templates using specialized software or other data entry tools.
- Import and export of data between various software platforms.
- Verify the accuracy of information, ensure all necessary documentation is received, and liaise with insurance adjusters.
- Provide detailed information and resolve issues related to policies, coverage, and claims in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum College or University level Degree/Undergraduates Degree or comparable experience
- Experience working in with data entry
- Proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience working with Broker Management Systems such as EPIC
- R.I.B.O (Level I) or working towards its completion
