Junior Electrical Engineering Designer
We are seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineering Designer to join our Engineering team at SolutionAir. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for HVAC products that meet or exceed industry standards for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary product team, supporting product design from concept to production. This includes system design, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will also be involved in product standardization and support of existing product families.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
• Design electrical systems for production builds, including complete manufacturing packages, specifications, standards, and drawings. • Review engineering designs and drawings; create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs); ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion. • Support cross-functional departments: Manufacturing, Sales, Applications, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. • Interface with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and field personnel to support design, production, and service efforts. • Collaborate with Development and Test Engineering teams to improve manufacturability (e.g., panel layouts and harness routing). • Troubleshoot electrical and control issues to support technical field service and commissioning. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all product family requirements and electrical design standards. • Perform product changes and updates to support production and customer needs. • Create 3D models, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering/Technology • Eligible for registration with EGM, CTTAM, or a similar professional body • Strong understanding of electrical and control system design, including PLCs, DDC systems, and theory of operation development • Experience with MRP systems, BOM management, and engineering change control • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles • Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), including wire harness and cable routing • Skilled in creating electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent tools • Familiar with industrial communication protocols and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., UL, CE) • Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical systems and logic programming • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities • Comfortable and safe working with electrical systems up to 600V AC • Ability to travel occasionally within North America (valid passport or ability to obtain one)
