About the Role:
As a Jr. Cake Consultant/Event Runner, you'll play a vital role in our client experience -from assisting customers with cake design consultations to helping fun fun and engaging events. You'll need to think on your feet, multitask with confidence, and communicate clearly across mutliple channels including email, phone, and face-to-face. As the role progresses, the position has the opportunity to turn into full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with all orders and event bookings: this includes providing quotes for custom cakes.
- Interpret and communicate design ideas between clients and decorators.
- Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Coordinate and facilitate party events (including but not limited to children's parties, 'Pipe and Sip' nights and open houses) ensuring a fun and safe environment.
- Support the creative team with design inspiration and customer feedback.
- Work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Handling Customer Escalations and concerns in a professional approach to address and resolve.
- Data entry, record keeping, filing, and organizing.
- Preparing tasting boxes and materials for consultations.
- Building and maintain relationships with clients to build and retain business.
- Maintains a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Occasionally assissting with deliveries and supply runs.
- Front of house duties: handling monetary transactions, serving customers when needed: this may include making specialty drinks or food items, boxing cakes, helping customers to their vehicle.
- Directly reporting into the Business Development Manager.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- A creative eye and ability to understand visual design concepts.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable interacting with clients of all ages (especially children!).
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office/Google (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Positive attitude, team spirit, and adaptability.
- Willing to accept new responsibilities.
- Previous experience in customer service, event planning or hospitality, and sales is a plus.
- Post-Secondary Diploma in related field is an asset.
- Must be available to work all standard holidays including but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, Easter, and Mother's Day.
- Current Food Handlers Certificate Required
- Current Smart Serve Certificate Required
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check Required

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
