Role Summary
The Inventory Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the correct recording of material transfers both into and out of the site, to ensure that the work is kept organized, efficient and accurate and that the inventory requirements meet the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The clerk will support the Inventory Team Leader to continuously improve inventory stock level process by identifying opportunities utilizing innovative thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general physical activities in the warehouse; loading, unloading, sorting and moving products and materials manually and or with assistance from Forklift Operators
- Receive accurately and communicate with the Team Lead or Supervisor for discrepancies (missing items, damages, unexpected returns etc.)
- Use an internal software system to manage incoming and outgoing orders and transfers.
- Ensure that inventory is received according to standard operating procedures.
- Electronically update, maintain, and report on all key performance measurements regarding inventory management and other KPI’s as directed by Inventory Team Leader and Production Supervisor.
- Replenish bins to support the inventory requirements on the production floor.
- Maintain inventory levels and submit requests for replenishment to the Inventory Team Leader.
- Process and fill work orders presented by Inventory Team Leader and Production Supervisor
- Assist with inventory count procedures on a daily/weekly/monthly/yearly or as required basis
- Consolidate inventory to improve use of physical warehouse space.
- Verify and check lot numbers/expiry dates when handling products.
- Tag, mark, or label stock items and ensure they are placed in the correct storage location.
- Works with others to identify, investigate and resolve inventory accuracy issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use proper safety equipment as required. Ensure the facility is compliant with General Manufacturing Processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Other inventory shipping and receiving related tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years Inventory Control experience, preferably in a 3PL warehouse setting
- Possess a valid forklift license is an asset
- Ability to lift, pull, push approximately 20-40 lbs respectively and safely.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position – walking, standing, repetitive lifting and bending.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
