The Role
As an Ice Cream Packaging Associate, you’ll operate and support our packaging lines to portion, seal, code, label, and case‑pack Mini Melts products. You’ll follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and CFIA requirements to keep our products delicious and safe. This is a hands‑on role in a fast-paced environment with clear production targets and team support.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment (fillers, sealers, date coders, labelers, case packers) according to SOPs.
- Portion, seal, and verify cups, pouches, or tubs; apply accurate labels and lot/date codes.
- Perform quality checks (weights, seals, codes, appearance) and complete production records and CCP/PCP documentation.
- Stage packaging materials; keep the line supplied and organized; complete changeovers efficiently.
- Palletize finished goods; apply case labels and record counts in batch/production logs.
- Follow sanitation SOPs for line wipe‑downs and end‑of‑shift cleaning; support deep cleans as scheduled.
- Maintain a tidy, safe work area and follow all safety rules (PPE, lockout, chemical handling, etc.).
- Communicate issues promptly (materials, equipment, quality) and help troubleshoot with the lead/maintenance.
What You’ll Bring
- Reliability, teamwork, and a positive, can‑do attitude—our team members are valued and appreciated.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20–25 lbs intermittently.
- Comfort working in refrigerated/freezer areas; proper PPE provided.
- Basic English reading/writing for SOPs and production forms; attention to detail with numbers and codes.
- Experience in food/CPG packaging, manufacturing, or warehouse an asset
Nice to Have
- Food safety training (e.g., Food Handler, WHMIS)
- Experience with GMP/HACCP/PCP documentation
- Basic mechanical aptitude for changeovers and minor adjustments
- Forklift/pallet jack experience (certification an asset)
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: 8 hour shifts 5 days per week
- Status: Full‑time, permanent; probationary period applies.
