Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting a positive and productive workplace culture. The HR Generalist provides broad HR support across all areas, including employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, policy development, performance management, and benefits and pension plan enrollment. This role is also responsible for entering and maintaining employee information in the School’s HRIS system, Ceridian Dayforce.
As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for:
Employee Relations and Engagement: Serve as a first point of contact for staff inquiries, support a respectful and inclusive work environment, and assist with conflict resolution, employee relations matters, and employee engagement initiatives.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Coordinate the hiring process including job postings and applicant screening. Lead onboarding and orientation to ensure a welcoming experience for all new hires.
Policy and Compliance: Support the implementation and communication of policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to employment laws and internal practices. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Performance and Development: Support the administration of the School’s performance review processes and provide basic guidance to leaders on performance management.
Benefits and Pension Plan Enrollment: Support the enrollment of new and existing employees in the School’s benefit and pension plans.
HR Operations and Projects: Enter and maintain employee information in Ceridian Dayforce, maintain personnel files, provide regular reports and data to support decision-making, and contribute to ongoing HR process improvements and school-wide initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and bring a with a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in human resources. A CHRP designation or progress toward one is considered an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, contribute positively to our workplace culture, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of employment standards legislation, along with exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, are essential for success in this role.
