The Housing Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day housing operations, and ensuring the operation runs smoothly and efficiently in all of our 5 properties, and all rental properties. The manager is also responsible for hiring, training and providing ongoing motivation and coaching to all housing staff. Strong personal integrity, leadership skills and the ability to effectively deal with stress are crucial. A high level of professionalism and maturity are essential in order to succeed in this role.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Abide by housing and employment standards in all aspects of the Housing Department
  • Ongoing training & supervision of all Housing staff including security
  • Manage the departments wage slips, terminations and payroll requirements
  • Provide reports and information to senior management as needed
  • Develop systems that stress the importance of accountability, consistency and procedure
  • Acquire and secure outside rental agreements with local businesses in our off season
  • Ensure compliance of the Housing contract with all tenants and ability to address housing concerns and issues consistently and in a fair manner
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and evaluations – ensure to address poor performance related issues, if required
  • Ensure that steps are taken to ensure the health and safety of those in residence
  • Determine and prioritize housing needs in consultation with managers and developing programs to encourage clean and safe living spaces
  • Controlling and participation in all check-ins/outs and room inspections
  • Communication with the payroll department regarding housing rates and charges to tenants
  • Maintain logs and statistical information on maintenance and construction projects that are taking place, or in the future in all LLSA housing
  • Be familiar with Residential tenancy act, LLSA Housing Agreement, LLSA policy manual, Parks Canada policies and the Innkeepers Act.


Job Requirements/Qualification:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Flexibility with scheduled shifts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess excellent problem solving ability, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Adhere to all LLSR policies and procedures
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Must possess excellent previous management and leadership experience (3-4 years)
  • Must be highly organized with the staffing and administration of the department
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to balance the needs of, staff, maintenance, tenants, and outside interests
  • Strong written and verbal English with a second language considered an asset


Work Schedule:

4 days on/3 days off
