Who we are looking for:
This position supports two areas of ACSA’s Housing Hub team, offering support to the Rent Bank program and providing client triage and assessment through the Housing Hub Intake Line. Guided by Housing First principles, the worker provides housing assessment, information, and linkages to community services. In addition, this role assists with processing Rent Bank applications in a timely manner to help stabilize tenancies at-risk of eviction or support individuals moving into suitable new housing.

About the role:
- Responsible for hotline, triage, and prompt follow-up to inquiries to ensure the highest quality of service and equitable access for clients
- Represent the Housing Hub, acting as the first line of communication with clients; provide immediate and responsive information to clients via the Intake Line; complete assessment, triage, and pre-screening
- Liaise with landlords to determine market-rent housing options and compile weekly housing listings
- Receive, process and submit Toronto Rent Bank (TRB) applications in a timely manner and in accordance with TRB standards and procedures
- Assess clients for TRB eligibility, provide accurate information regarding application requirements and communicate updates to applicants; gather necessary documents to process applications
- Maintain TRB records as required in a web-based program
- Monitor housing trends and challenges in the community; prepare statistical and narrative reports as required
- Attend and participate in team, agency and Rent Bank Operational Committee meetings
- Collect, maintain, and record statistics in accordance with program and agency standards
- Other duties as required
About you:
- A college diploma or a degree in human services (social work, social services work)
- Minimum of one year experience providing services to diverse communities, including newcomers, families and individuals that are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Strong understanding of market rent and subsidized housing systems and policies
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to harm reduction framework and housing-first approach
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and to manage time well
- Ability to tactfully manage issues and relationships with professionalism, and resolve conflicts
- Knowledge of community resources for homelessness, health, mental health and substance abuse
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Fluency in a second language is an asset
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check required
What we offer:
Salary: $52,000.00 – 58,000.00 per annum
