Summary of Position

Responsible to perform the duties and responsibilities of the rooms, laundry and public area attendant. Responsible for maintaining optimum customer service and the housekeeping department standards. Will involve evening and weekend work. Seasonal summer and year round positions available.

Key Relationships

Internally: Provide all essential information to department heads and employees.

Externally: Occasional contact with all guests requiring exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

Education

Essential: 1.

Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and written in English with employees and customers.

Desirable: 1. WHMIS certificate.

2. Pursuing or completed High School Diploma or Vocational equivalent

Knowledge

Desirable: 1. Previous experience in a cleaning position

2. Previous hotel and resort experience

Skills & Abilities

Essential:

1. Ability to operate cleaning equipment i.e. vacuum.

2. Excellent customer service skills in order to maintain an exceptional rapport with customers and employees.

3. Ability to follow directions in a timely manner.

4. Self-starter and ability to work independently.

5. Ability to work cooperatively with employees and managers as part of a team.

6. Ability to focus attention on details, prioritize, organize and follow up. 7. Ability to work in a time efficient manner.

Special Requirements: Ability to operate a motorized vehicle i.e. Golf Cart, Van or Truck as

per company policy & procedure.

Note: Not “all” employees are required to operate company vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies and

procedures.

2. Maintain related knowledge of fire and health & safety policies & procedures.

3. Maintain company knowledge by attending training workshops and meetings.

4. Maintain client and company confidence by keeping information confidential.

5. Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management as part of a team.

8. Set up and organize housekeeping cart and work area with designated supplies, forms and brochures and maintain cleanliness at all times.

9. Responsible for providing excellent customer service and professional communication at all times with guests, visitors and employees at all times.

10. Ensure that all guests and visitors are greeted with the company standard greetings at all times.

Rooms Attendant responsibilities:

11. Read and interpret notes to determine room assignments.

12. Clean and make up rooms (interior and exterior areas) as per company standards and room assignments.

13. Vacuuming, dust, and mop as required.

14. Stock guest coffee area and ensure adequate supply is available ( in some designated rooms as well as public areas.)

15. Responsible for maintaining and stocking all guest rooms reporting any malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance department.

16. Laundry for the each cottages.
