About Us


The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to helping our students achieve their academic goals by providing to the Western community an array of integrated student related services in a confidential and professional environment. This includes providing exceptional service to current students as well as prospective students from the initial point of interest in undergraduate programs at Western, through the information gathering, application, and admission processes.

Responsibilities


Please note, this position will be filled by an internal appointment.

The Helpline Project Support role is part of a time-bound pilot initiative aimed at assessing the effectiveness of Student Central's operational support during peak periods, with a focus on workflow optimization and internal communications related to the Helpline and associated teams. The findings from this pilot will help identify opportunities to improve service quality, strengthen internal communication, and enhance coordination across units within the Office of the Registrar. The incumbent also provides general administrative support and information to helpline and work-study students, contributing to ongoing process improvements across helpline operations.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Community College Diploma in an administrative field or University Degree

Experience:
  • 2 years' experience providing customer service in higher-education setting

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
  • Knowledge of general office procedures including records management systems
  • Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
  • Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
  • Self-motivated multi-tasker with strong organizational skills
  • Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and follow through on work assignments
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
  • Written and verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Customer service skills to understand customer needs and expectations, with a desire to deliver helpful and reliable service to the University community
