As the Head of Global Investment Products, you will lead a global team of approximately 150 Investment Product professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the development and execution of innovative investment products for Manulife Global Wealth & Asset Management, aligning with future market trends and customer needs.

You will bring a strong market and commercial perspective to ensure our products are profitable and competitive and that we are building investment solutions for the future needs of investors. Collaboration with various global stakeholders, including our internal General Account (GA), Compliance, Legal & Risk, and partnership with Heads of Investment Management, Heads of Business, and Heads of Sales and Distribution, will be essential to create a cohesive strategy that delivers high-quality products, grounded in market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends.

A key aspect of this role is staying connected with the external market for deep focus on the economics of a shifting market, to predict and identify new investment product opportunities using data-driven insights and industry expertise across retail, institutional, and the retirement business lines. You will lead an experienced global investment product team to meet both new and existing market needs.

Our strategy requires leveraging our internal investment team capabilities along with select strategic third party managers to complement our internal capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven record of influencing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. This role reports directly to the President & CEO of Manulife’s Global Wealth & Asset Management business and is part of the Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) Leadership Team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the global product team in researching, developing, and executing innovative global investment products.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and inspiration to global product professionals, focusing on innovation, engagement, and collaboration.
  • Establish a clear and measurable commercial framework for the global product function to ensure profitability.
  • Maintain a forward-looking competitive lens on emerging product themes and market developments.
  • Establish and manage the product development cycle engaging required resources in the organization to ensure a successful product launch and fundraising with the sales teams
  • Foster a strong culture of collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders in Investments, Sales & Distribution.
  • Leverage GenAI and data for key insights to identify new opportunities.
  • Partner with investment businesses to review and align around product investment performance to drive strategic decisions around existing and future products.
  • Manage sub-advisory relationships and work with independent boards.
  • Oversee platform governance and management of the seed capital portfolio.
  • Manage Management Company operations over offshore fund line-ups.
  • Manage the Trust Company.
  • Navigate and manage global markets and operations effectively.

Requirements:

  • Relevant investment product leadership experience at a global level.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to predict market trends and identify new product opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and partnering skills.
  • Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven commercial acumen in leading a product business profitably.
  • Global leadership experience.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
