We have an exciting opportunity available for a Furniture Repair Technician to join our Mississauga Distribution Centre team, located at 333 Matheson Blvd West.

As the Furniture Service Technician you will have the opportunity to:
- Inspect furniture to determine if it needs parts replaced or if it’s repairable to top-notch condition.
- Work your magic to restore damaged furniture to like-new conditions within a set timeframe, using proven techniques, including refinishing, re-upholstery, painting, etc. This includes wood, fabric, leather, and metal pieces.
- Support guests with in-home repairs in a friendly and helpful way, listening to their needs and questions and responding quickly.
- Understand and follow all safe work practices and rules, including WHMIS.
- Document and complete service reports and paperwork, including inventory control information.
- Support the Quality Control Coordinator in the completion of Product Issue Tracking (PIT)
- Keep your service vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with repair materials, and communicate any issues (mechanical or otherwise) on the service vehicles.
- Attend training on furniture service topics.
- Inspect and validate the repair parts.
What we're looking for:
- High School diploma with two years of hands-on experience in furniture repair, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing. Experience with other materials and color matching is a plus!
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset.
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn in-house computer programs, including the in-house inventory management system.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Some exposure to working with solvents is an asset.
- Physically able to lift and carry objects of 50 – 100 pounds.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean Driver Abstract.
- Able to conduct physical work in warm and cold conditions.
- Comfortable with flexible schedule requirements, including evenings and weekends.
- Available to work overtime as required.
- Criminal Record Check is required.
