Summary:
The Gymnastics Coach is responsible for providing high-quality coaching to athletes of all skill levels, leading training sessions, and ensuring safety. The coach focuses on skill development, strength, flexibility, and coordination while fostering a positive and motivating environment. This role includes clear communication with athletes, parents, and staff and contributes to both recreational and competitive program success. The coach also promotes a healthy workplace culture that supports collaboration and member satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coaching and Training:
- Safety First: Safety First: Follow safety protocols while keeping the class together in one area with clear organization and guidance, ensuring a safe, supportive environment for everyone. Report any equipment issues or safety concerns immediately to competitive director.
- Lead Training Sessions: Teach gymnastics sessions for athletes of all ages and skill levels, covering fundamental to advanced techniques across various apparatuses (floor, vault, uneven bars, balance beam), within certification limits.
- Skill Development: Focus on building strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination while helping athletes improve their technique and form.
- Create a Positive Environment: Foster a supportive atmosphere that aligns with Salto’s mission where athletes feel motivated, valued, and encouraged to improve.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with athletes, parents, and staff regarding progress, upcoming events, any concerns, and provide excellent customer service to address inquiries and ensure a positive experience for all involved.
2. Administrative Duties:
- Lesson Planning: Plan and organize detailed lesson plans for gymnastics training sessions, ensuring each session aligns with athletes' needs and developmental goals.
- Track Athlete Progress: Maintain accurate records of each gymnast’s performance, attendance, achievements, and progress. Ensure that detailed progress reports are available for review by both coaches and parents.
3. Professional Development:
- Ongoing Education: Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques, safety protocols, and gymnastics trends through workshops, clinics, and training.
- Certification Maintenance: Ensure all required certifications, licenses, and professional development milestones are met to maintain high coaching standards.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
