POSITION: Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience ($110,000-$130,000)

The Director of FP&A will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions for our food production operations. This role is critical in providing strategic financial insights and decision support to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth, efficiency, and profitability goals in a highly regulated and competitive industry. The role also includes oversight of treasury functions to ensure effective cash flow management, liquidity planning, and financial risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the development of annual budgets, long-range plans, and rolling forecasts.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to align financial plans with production schedules and compliance requirements.

Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and reports for the CFO, CEO, and parent company.

Cost & Margin Analysis
- Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis to support pricing and profitability strategies.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and monitor production KPIs such as yield, waste, and throughput.

Business Partnering
- Collaborate with plant managers, R&D, procurement, and sales to provide financial insights and support operational decisions.
- Evaluate capital investment proposals and ROI analyses for new equipment, automation, or facility expansions.

Process Improvement & Systems
- Implement and enhance financial systems, dashboards, and tools to improve forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, food safety regulations, and financial policies.

Treasury Management
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships.
- Manage short-term investments, debt facilities, and interest rate risk.
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and optimize working capital.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred). CFA would be considered an asset.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in FP&A, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in financial modeling, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in treasury operations including cash management, liquidity planning, and financial risk management.
Preferred Attributes
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or cost accounting is a plus.
- Knowledge of foreign banking policies and public company reporting.
