The Financial Analyst supports core business functions by preparing cost-based quotes and providing insights into inventory, manufacturing productivity, and product profitability. This role ensures accurate financial reporting and cost transparency to drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
The analyst collaborates cross-functionally with teams such as Finance, Sales, Operations, and Production, and engages with senior leadership, including the CFO and VP.

Key Accountabilities:

• Prepare both formal and informal quotes for the sales team and customers by analyzing manufacturing processes, assessing inventory cost structures, and ensuring accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with finance and business teams to execute month-end financial reporting processes. This includes preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and managing accruals. Assist in the development of the annual operating budget and financial forecasts as required.
• Partner with cross-functional business units to oversee inventory financials. Conduct valuation analyses, identify losses and disposals, support provisioning activities, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory-related figures during the monthly close cycle.
• Collect and process labour ticket entries, analyze production efficiencies, absorption rates, and cost variances. Maintain and enhance productivity tracking tools to generate actionable insights that inform operational improvements and strategic planning.
• Provide financial support for product and customer profitability analysis. Gain a deep understanding of cost components, margin drivers, and inventory impacts. Participate in the financial review of new products to ensure alignment with profitability targets and cost efficiency.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

• Postsecondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in costing, pricing, or financial analysis within a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in Contract Manufacturing or the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP systems; comfortable analyzing and interpreting large datasets. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, advanced formulas/functions, and query development. Familiarity with Power BI dashboards and other data visualization tools is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency when working under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
• Proactive and resourceful, with sound judgment and the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
