Position Description
The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto
Division of Paediatric Emergency Medicine
Effective immediately The Division of Paediatric Emergency Medicine is seeking a full-time permanent faculty position at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children: affiliated with the University of Toronto.
The Emergency Department at SickKids sees more than 70,000 patient visits per year and is the Paediatric Level 1 Trauma Centre for the greater Toronto area. The division trains a broad range of practitioners who care for ill and injured children, the centerpiece of the division's training mission is our fully accredited Fellowship training Program which matriculates Royal College fellows and international PEM fellows.
Formally trained PEM physicians with outstanding clinical skills and a commitment to academic success are encouraged to apply. International candidates with a strong academic portfolio, PEM fellowship training, and experience in an academic teaching center will be considered. Candidates with additional specialized training in machine learning, robotics, or pre-hospital medicine are preferred.
The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($268,340 ' $318,823) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.
All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
