THE OPPORTUNITY
The Facilities Attendant position provides facility user support to enhance the quality, safety and standards of customer experience and facility operations. When supporting facility functions, they will provide quality customer service through their support of users of the facility spaces. This may include, but is not limited to, meeting room set up and take down, meeting room AV support, minor janitorial and clean-up of facility spaces following rentals or use. They may also be required to support the operations through additional customer service and behavior monitoring during larger events and performances. This position takes day-to-day direction from department staff they are assigned to work with and reports directly to the Supervisor of Recreation Facility Operations.

Probationary Rate: $21.71 per hour
Developmental Rate: $23.33 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

4. Other Duties
- Perform basic janitorial and general cleaning of facility spaces, as per outlined standards, to ensure the safe and clean operation of the facilities.
- Stock and monitor washrooms and other facility areas for supplies and materials.
2. Facility Operation and Event Support
- Set up and take down of facility rooms, spaces and equipment as directed.
- Assist users and general public with the operation of meeting room AV and Hub equipment, as required.
- Provide on-site supervision to outdoor play/park spaces, as assigned, including Jubilee Spray Park, Skateboard Park and other areas as assigned.
- Assist program, Front of House and other department staff with the set up and take down of events, performances, and other department functions, as assigned.
- Conduct water tests and other daily facility operation tasks, reporting any issues or maintenance requirements to the supervisor immediately.
- Complete all forms and reporting requirements in a professional, timely manner.
3. Facility Supervision & Behaviour Monitoring
- Creates a positive environment for users, public, tenants and other staff through effective and respectful communication.
- Monitor behaviour of patrons, respectfully addressing inappropriate behaviour to ensure the safety and positive experience for all users of the park.
- Engages appropriate support from supervisor, and/or Enforcement Services, when required, to ensure safety of facility, other patrons, other staff, and self.
- Documents and records all incidents and facility damage as required.
- Follows all City standards and legislation related to respectful behaviour, FOIPP and other policies and procedure.
- Adheres to all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
4. Other Duties
- Understand and adhere to City policies, procedures, and standards, whether written or implied, as amended from time to time.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by always acting in a safe manner and complying with City safety policies and procedures for staff and contractors.
- Engages appropriate support from supervisor, and/or Enforcement Services, when required, to ensure safety of facility, other patrons, other staff, and self.
- Documents and records all incidents and facility damage.
- Follows all City standards and legislation related to respectful behaviour, FOIPP and other policies and procedure.
- Act as a steward of the City's Corporate Culture by following the “Values, We Live By”.

- High School Diploma.
- Minimum (1) one year of customer service experience in a public setting.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with basic meeting room AV equipment set up.
- Conflict Resolution training.
- Basic Level - ActiveNet, Microsoft Windows, Windows Media Player.
- Municipal Experience.

- Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License.
- Must obtain a satisfactory review of a three-year Driver’s Abstract with a maximum of six (6) demerits.
- Criminal Record check required.
- Standard First Aid CPR.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Shift Work - Includes evening, weekends and/or statutory holidays.
- Hours of Operation could be 7:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
- Overtime may be required.
- Travel may be required.
- All employees shall always act in a safe manner and will report any unsafe conditions, procedures or acts for the benefit of the City. Continual adherence to the City Safety Policy is mandatory.
- It is the responsibility of the employees to keep current on WHMIS and other safety-related procedures.
