Position Purpose
Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta is currently seeking a full-time Events and Partnership Coordinator.
The Events & Partnerships Coordinator (EPC) is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating Junior Achievement events throughout Southern Alberta. This includes overseeing the delivery of events in communities such as Red Deer, Lethbridge, and others, with occasional travel offering opportunities to connect with partners, volunteers, and students across the region. The EPC also leads volunteer management and supports business development initiatives directly related to these regional events. Reporting to the Manager, Community Partnerships, the EPC works closely with the Programs team as well as Marketing & Communications to ensure all events reflect JA Southern Alberta’s (JASA) strategic goals and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
A. Event Planning & Execution
· Lead planning and on-site execution of regional program events, and regional fundraising initiatives.
· Coordinate comprehensive event logistics:
o Arrange transportation, catering, and in-kind donations as required.
o Conduct pre-site visits and coordinate with post-secondary institutions and teachers.
o Confirm student attendance details, consent waivers, and mentor participation.
· Maintain consistent stakeholder communication before and after events.
· Ensure event data (e.g., student surveys, mentor lists) is accurately collected and recorded in Salesforce.
B. Volunteer Recruitment & Management
· Oversee recruitment, screening, training, and recognition of event volunteers in accordance with JASA policies.
· Ensure all volunteer documentation is current and adheres to screening and code of conduct protocols.
· Input volunteer data in a timely and accurate manner using Salesforce.
· Support Program Coordinators in volunteer training and recruitment as needed.
C. Partnership Development
· Identify, engage, and steward regional funding prospects to secure financial and in-kind support for events.
· In collaboration with the Manager, Community Partnerships, support partnership activation and communication
· Ensure timely follow-up, donor recognition, and reporting on partnership outcomes.
D. Marketing & Communications
· Support fundraising and community awareness by ensuring consistent, compelling messaging for all events.
· Liaise with the Marketing & Communications team to provide relevant content and collateral (e.g., social media assets, event recaps).
· Support the development of promotional materials for programs and events, aligned with JASA brand standards.
E. Administration & Reporting
· Monitor and manage event budgets in alignment with organizational goals.
· Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and organizational events as required.

Qualifications & Competencies
· Post-secondary education in business administration, event management, marketing, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
· Demonstrated experience in event coordination, volunteer management, and fundraising, preferably within the non-profit or charitable sector.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce and/or Raiser’s Edge.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including educators, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
· Knowledge of the southern Alberta community landscape, including local education, business, and volunteer networks.
· High level of motivation, initiative, and attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
· Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
· A genuine passion for youth education, empowerment, and community engagement.

Work Schedule & Requirements
· This is a Calgary based, full time 10-month contract position, with potential for renewal.
· Hybrid work arrangement available
· A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel throughout Southern Alberta.
