About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Millwork Estimator to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in our project success by providing accurate cost estimates and managing the technical aspects of millwork projects from initial bid through completion. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, digital work environment and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
Note: This is an on-site role. Remote work or work-from-home is not an option.
Key Responsibilities
Project Analysis & Estimation
- Review and break down complex drawing packages (often 95+ drawings) from builders and general contractors
- Organize, link, and cross-reference all project drawings to ensure comprehensive coverage
- Extract and identify all millwork requirements from architectural plans
- Prepare detailed and competitive pricing for new work and project bids
- Analyze project specifications to determine material, labor, and timeline requirements
Digital Document Management
- Work exclusively in a digital, on-screen environment (paperless workflow)
- Utilize PDF manipulation skills to extract pages, split drawings, and create/combine files
- Manage and organize large-scale drawing packages efficiently
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the estimating process
Change Management & Communication
- Process project emails and PCNs (Project Change Notices) to identify scope changes
- Establish accurate costs for project modifications and additions
- Review revised drawings for new instructions and parameter changes
- Coordinate with manufacturing shop foremen, site supervisors, and operations managers
Work Environment
This position operates in a fully digital environment, requiring comfort with on-screen work and paperless processes. You’ll work closely with our manufacturing team, supervisors, and operations management to ensure seamless project execution from estimate to completion. This is not a remote role.
