Job Description

Hiring a highly skilled and experienced Environment Lead with 7+ years of experience to manage and oversee multiple environments across our regulatory platform, which consists of 50+ applications. This key position will be responsible for coordinating releases, managing environment conflicts, and mapping the environment requirements between different applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong infrastructure knowledge, a solid understanding of Java programming/mainframe systems, message queues, kafka, API Services, database skills etc.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities Includes:
  • Environment Management: Oversee and manage all development, test, staging, and production environments. Ensure all environments are configured, contains the correct version of code/build, environment readiness for development and testing on a regulatory platform.

  • Release Coordination: Maintain the code release schedules between the applications including BAU changes, Coordinate release cycles, ensuring smooth integration of new builds and patches across environments. Communicate release timelines, changes, and impact to stakeholders.

  • Conflict Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve environment conflicts and issues, ensuring all applications and services function properly across different environments.

  • Mapping Environment Requirements: Map application requirements to the specific configurations and setups needed in each environment. Understand the intricate dependencies between applications and ensure they are properly supported in each environment.

  • Infrastructure Collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure teams to design, optimize, and troubleshoot environment setups. Provide feedback on infrastructure requirements and recommend improvements.

  • Application Integration: Ensure smooth integration of various technical components such as databases, APIs, and external services across multiple environments. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve integration challenges.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of environment configurations, issues, releases, and changes. Provide regular reports to management on environment status, performance, and upcoming releases.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the point of contact for all environment-related queries. Communicate regularly with developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of environment requirements and constraints.

  • Compliance & Regulatory Support: Ensure all environments comply with regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and any other industry-specific standards.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve environment management processes, recommending automation and best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Skills and Experience:
Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure management (e.g., servers, networks, cloud services).
  • Proficiency in Java programming (basic knowledge), with the ability to understand and support Java-based applications.
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL, Azure SQL, Mongo DB) and their integration with applications across different environments.
  • Experience working with API services and integrations (RESTful, SOAP).
  • Knowledge of Kafka and message queues
  • Experience in managing CI/CD pipelines, familiarity with DevOps practices and tools and release management tools preferred.
  • Experience with various cloud platforms desirable (Azure, AWS, GCP etc).

  • Proven experience in managing multiple environments across large, complex platforms (preferably regulatory or financial systems).
  • Strong ability to map environments and ensure application requirements are met.
  • Experience handling conflicts between applications and resolving environment-related issues.


Problem-Solving & Coordination:

  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills in complex technical environments.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, infrastructure, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders and ensure smooth release cycles.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering
  • Certifications in relevant technologies or practices (e.g., cloud certifications, ITIL, etc.) are a plus
