About the job
As part of our team, you will:- provide advanced, enterprise-wide technical consulting on infrastructure and network issues
- identify and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative, leading-edge solutions to support the IT infrastructure needs of Emergency Health Services (EHS)
- proactively lead initiatives to improve the reliability, performance, and quality of network infrastructure for hosting critical telecommunication solutions
- develop, implement, and coordinate standardized incident reporting procedures to ensure operational continuity and consistency
- oversee the design, testing, and implementation of network and telecommunications applications (e.g., telephony/voice processing), including ongoing support, updates, and system refreshes
What you bring to the team
Technical knowledge:
You have:- expertise in enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) implementation, migration, and support
- expertise in installing, configuring, and operating Palo Alto Firewalls
- experience in network control, management, and security protocols
- working knowledge of Quality Of Service (QoS), including configuration of QoS policies applied for VOIP traffic
- proficiency with network monitoring tools and techniques to diagnose and troubleshoot connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and other network-related problems
- knowledge of IP routing and Layer 2 (L2) technologies in datacenters using Cisco
- experience with IPv6
- experience conducting failover and performance testing of integrated, multi-service network systems
- knowledge of current and emerging technologies and trends to assess their applicability to ministry/government infrastructure requirements
- knowledge of incident reporting standards and procedures to ensure continuity and consistency

- conduct research into networking issues and emerging products to support informed decision-making
- lead enterprise-wide consultations, contribute to technology strategy development, and oversee the planning, development, design, and integration of large-scale projects and initiatives
- provide advanced consulting and advisory services to identify network and telecommunication technologies that enhance business operations
- conduct market research, recommend and participate in the development of new emerging technologies for EHS, review current and emerging trends, and evaluate infrastructure requirements
- demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning by staying current with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in the field
Consultative, communication, and interpersonal skills:
You can:
- develop business relationships by providing advanced technical expertise to cluster and ministry senior management
- create and deliver presentations, offer technical instruction and advice, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to clients
- communicate effectively across diverse teams, understand client needs, and translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders
- prepare detailed reports and lead post-mortem evaluations to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Project management skills:
You can:
- apply your knowledge of project management methodologies, analytical tools, tendering processes, and contract administration
- lead multiple large-scale technical projects across multiple programs, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration of technologies
- provide end-to-end leadership on infrastructure projects, overseeing the design, implementation, and testing phases to ensure timely and successful delivery
Procurement skills:
- You can apply knowledge of procurement processes to provide technical expertise, conduct market research, and engage effectively with vendors to support strategic sourcing and solution implementation
