About the School:
Little Galaxy Childcare & Montessori is a school located in Brampton. The Montessori programming for students are from ages toddler to upper casa. The main objective of Little Galaxy Childcare & Montessori School, is to provide planned and stimulating environments to assist children in developing within themselves the fundamental habits, aptitudes, and skills necessary to maximize their full potential. This is taught by adhering to the core principles, philosophies, and pedagogy of Dr. Maria Montessori, and “How Does Learning Happens?” we are devoted to each child’s intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- AMI or MACTE approved Montessori Casa/Toddler training or ECE certification
- Experience teaching children age 18 month to 6 years
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C
- Up to date Immunization Health Screening/Record (as per CCEYA guidelines) (including a 2 step TB test )
- A demonstrated passion for working with children
- The ability to collaborate and contribute as a team player
- A proven professional approach and work ethic
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and goal setting in line with GMMS vision

Job Responsibilities:
Successful employee will be a key person in supervising children in their daily activities, organizing and preparing activities and materials. Employee is required to communicate and work as a team with the supporting staff in their classroom and provide the necessary instructions ensuring Little Galaxy Montessori curriculum is followed. Below are some of the typical routine responsibilities:
- Complete up to date Record keeping and lesson planning
- Encourage and assist in positive social interactions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
-Taking the children through the classroom materials
- Having responsibility for recording relevant information in relation to the student’s progress.
- Supervising children in their daily activities, organizing and preparing art activities for the younger children as appropriate and as may be requested by the school Program Director- Maintaining the prepared environment and ensuring that the classroom is regularly changed, cleaned and maintained, and that wall displays are updated.
- Ensuring the children who need to go to the bathroom are able to go- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher interviews, and all school concerts
- Any other duties normally associated with a childcare provision, including preparation and serving of snacks, any washing-up and kitchen duties that occur after snack and lunchtimes, supervising the children and ensuring their safety in their outside play, assisting with taking the children to off-site play or other facilities.
- Ensuring all activities and toys are put away correctly, and reporting any missing activities or toys to the centers supervisor.
- Maintains confidentiality of clients, co-workers and the school centre as appropriate.
- Is sensitive to parent’s needs and maintains a supportive relationship with them on a professional level while following school policies

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
