The MCC Ontario Donor Relations team is responsible for carrying out fundraising and donor stewardship initiatives in Ontario for local and international program donors. In addition to being a key member of this team, this position is also part of a larger network of communications, marketing and fundraising staff across Canada.
MCC has a faithful and generous donor constituency. The Donor Engagement Associate serves a critical role in helping to provide a positive donor experience by engaging and stewarding donors across several portfolios including new, lapsed, monthly, legacy and major donors,
MCC is a charitable organization that partners with churches and community organizations worldwide to walk with people who are disadvantaged. MCC supports activities that provide emergency assistance, reduce poverty, and promote healthy communities, sustainable living and alternatives to violence. As an internationally recognized NGO, MCC currently serves in more than 45 countries with over 475 partners, 1,000 staff and 40,000 volunteers.

Required
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust with donors
- Strategically focused, analytical thinker who excels at organization and can work independently, consistently meeting deadlines and targets
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices with proven ability and comfort soliciting donations
- Team player, able to collaborate and support colleagues in achieving overall revenue development goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work sensitively within a diverse cultural and theological milieu
- Experience working in a donor database (Donor Perfect Online preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma plus a minimum 2 years’ experience in a field focused on customer relations or relationship development, with preference in fundraising.
- Previous experience in monthly giving an asset
- Familiarity with Mennonite constituency
- Develop and implement strategies based on industry trends and best practices, to enhance donor retention and encourage second gifts from new donors
- Assist in the design of various donor appeals
- Establish measurable targets and metrics for improved conversion and retention rates
- Monitor and analyze donor acquisition channels to identify opportunities for improvement
- Creatively consider new donor acquisition opportunities and focus on engaging youth and young adults
Monthly Donor Program
- Oversee the growth and development of the monthly donor program
- Ensure timely and effective communication with monthly donors
Reactivation of Lapsed Donors
- Create and execute strategies to re-engage lapsed donors across all giving levels
- Collaborate with donor relations staff to identify and utilize engagement opportunities
- Establish measurable targets and metrics for reactivation of lapsed donors
Implementation Legacy Giving Program
- Serve as the point of contact for all Planned Giving gifts coming into MCC Ontario
- Enhance and market the Planned Giving Program in collaboration with MCC Canada
- Develop and manage stewardship programs for legacy donors including incorporating meaningful approaches to recognition
Donor Development and Stewardship
- Incorporate a “moves management” approach to donor relations, ensuring meaningful and timely interactions
- Build and maintain relationships with major donors, focusing on low engagement donors
- Collaborate with MCC Canada to develop and implement stewardship strategies for mass donors
- Work collaboratively with the donor relations team, giving leadership to the process of qualifying and moving middle donors to major donors
Analytics, Monitoring and Reporting
- Review and analyze donor giving trends to inform strategy adjustments.
- Manage donor contact records with integrity and confidentiality.
Other
- Support other team members in core functions as required due to illness, vacation or unforeseen circumstances
- Participate in team meetings, as required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Working closely with all MCCO departments including Communications and Donor Relations
- Participate in MCCO orientations, provincial meetings, Peace Conference and Staff Development Day
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use personal gifts within this community

Base salary: $56,821. This role starts on day 1 with a company paid benefit package
Group benefits package is employer paid: supplemental medical/dental/vision, life insurance, AD&D, global medical assistance, EAP, and RRSP contributions matched - starts on day one.
LTD premiums are the responsibility of all permanent, salaried positions. These are the responsibility of the team member and are paid through salary deduction
This role will work out of the MCC Ontario Office at 50 Kent Ave, Kitchener Ontario.
Some hybrid options, but expectation of being in office at least 2 days a week.
