Logistics Dispatcher - Term Position
Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Logistics Dispatcher to join our team based out of our location in Blumenort, MB. The Logistics Dispatcher will play a key role in coordinating the transportation of construction materials and equipment to and from various project locations. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch internal and 3rd party carriers to and from construction sites, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Schedule and monitor the movement of construction materials, tools, and equipment in conjunction with the Yard Foreman.
- Communicate with drivers, vendors, and site teams to ensure all deliveries and pick ups are on time and meet project requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and document delivery issues, ensuring minimal downtime on construction projects and drivers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies.
- Resolve logistical issues, including delays, material damage, accidents, and unexpected changes in schedules.
- Maintain a real-time dispatch log and provide timely updates to management when necessary.
- Fuel card management, GPS tracking management .
- Verification of invoicing breakdown versus scheduled load .
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics and dispatching, preferably in construction or a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of transportation operations (permitting, truck & trailer safeties, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively with a strong attention to details.
- Proficiency with logistics management software, GPS systems, and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Familiarity with the Canadian transportation laws, permits and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems efficiently under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities. Flexibility is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- During peak seasons, there may be a need for extended hours depending on demand.
