Position Description:
As a member of the YWCA Regina Leadership Team, the Director of Grants is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing funding opportunities that align with the strategic priorities of the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Director collaborates closely with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leaders to build organizational capacity through funding proposals, strategic initiatives, and funder stewardship.
Responsibilities:
•Lead the identification, research, and development of grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporations that align with YWCA Regina’s mission and goals.
•Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of intent (LOIs), and reports that reflect program needs and outcomes.
•Maintain and update grant boilerplate content to ensure consistency and efficiency across applications.
•Track all proposals, deadlines, and reporting requirements using internal databases and systems.
•Collaborate with departments through planning sessions and interviews to co-develop fundable project concepts and proposals.
•Collaborate with program staff and senior leadership to gather information, set funding priorities, and communicate program outcomes.
•Foster consistent, open communication with program teams to ensure a shared understanding of deliverables, outcomes, and timelines related to funded projects, and to support accurate and timely reporting.
•Ensure all grant deliverables and outcomes are monitored, documented, and reported in alignment with funder requirements.
•Support funder stewardship by preparing acknowledgement materials and collaborating with the communications team to ensure appropriate recognition.
•Stay informed of trends, funding landscapes, and best practices in grant development and non-profit funding strategies.
Qualifications:
•Demonstrated success writing and securing grants from corporate, foundation, and government funders.
•Strong understanding of the nonprofit and community-based sector, including program operations and impact evaluation.
•Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
•Excellent persuasive writing, editing, and research skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and storytelling.
