Job Overview
We are looking for a compassionate strong leader to oversee and manage the Wellness Department at Kawartha Heights Retirement Living. As the Director of Care you will be required to work independently and as a team. Guidance and support to ensure the highest level of customer service are required. You will be required to have the ability to manage multiple priorities and the needs of residents. In this role you will be focused on:
Duties
- Providing leadership, coaching and support to wellness staff
- Initiate, maintain and monitor implementation/compliance of resident care plans in Point Click Care.
- Meet all requirements set out by RHRA and home's standards of quality care
- Achieving regulatory compliance in relation to healthcare records and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics
- Hire, train and engage a team of clinical staff to deliver care
- Take a hands on approach to leading, mentoring and helping the team as required
Qualifications
- Diploma in nursing
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as a registered nurse or registered practical nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a registered nurse or registered practical nurse in the long term care or retirement sector with Point Click Care experience.
- Current Registration as a registered nurse or a registered practical nurse with the applicable provincial licensing body is required
- Current CPR designation is required
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in budgeting and resource management.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
