Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Community Rehabilitation & Wellness Programs oversees all aspects of program delivery leading a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals and program staff. This role will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including other service providers and funders. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for fostering a culture of caring and believing in the possibility and potential recovery for each brain injury survivor. What You Bring

- Experience and current knowledge in the medical and rehabilitation continuum of care for stroke and brain injury, with an innovative approach to delivering personalized recovery solutions.
- A sound understanding and application of Alberta medical regulations, codes, and legislation, along with knowledge of Alberta Health and Wellness, WCB, and third-party billing procedures.
- Demonstrated success in building effective teams through a collaborative, team-oriented leadership style.
- A track record of implementing change and developing innovative programs.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, mentorship, and organizational skills.
Key responsibility areas:
Leadership – 50%
- Oversee ARBI’s client programs, providing guidance, support and leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of 20 staff (allied health, psychosocial and program support positions).
- Provide leadership and mentorship to six direct reports for planning, coaching and feedback, career development and recognition.
- Collaborate with members of the leadership team and Board of Directors to maintain a current and effective strategic plan, operational plan.
Program Administration and Reporting – 40%
- Provide strategic direction to ensure all program delivery processes are aligned with ARBI’s organizational priorities and strategic initiatives, in close collaboration with direct reports and leadership team members.
- Oversee the administration of the active client roster including orientation, admission and discharge of clients in all ARBI programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to develop and monitor a range of business processes including workforce management, budgeting, forecasting, program reporting and compliance with policies/procedures.
- Facilitate the application of clinical best practices, based on research.
- Develop and implement plans to maintain Accreditation standards.
Community Relations – 10%
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with ARBI clients, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Advocate for, and represent ARBI’s position within the community, leveraging ARBI’s unique expertise, program outcomes and research.
- Collaborate with government funders, participate in negotiating contracts, reporting, invoicing and communication.
Qualifications:
- A related master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- Minimum of five years’ leadership experience in the not for profit / public sector leading and developing effective teams
- Member in good standing of a professional licensing body
- Understanding of the psychosocial, medical and rehabilitation community
- Current CPR certification
