Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various dental procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices, as well as proficiency in relevant software systems.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including handling patient inquiries
- Support orthodontic procedures and assist with pediatric dentistry when required
- Stay updated on medical terminology, CAD technology, and best practices in dental assisting
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with familiarity in orthodontics and pediatrics being a plus
- Proficiency in using dental software, particularly Dentrix and Epic, is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory
