Job Description
The Cost Estimation Technician will assist in the preparation of Estimates to ensure all requirements specified in the Request for Quote (RFQ) are fulfilled in a timely manner, and that the Estimation procedures and processes are followed.
Role and responsibilities
- Set up directory folders & framework for Estimates.
- Prepare Estimates for analysis.
- Import Customer Bill Of Materials (BOM) data and populate Estimation worksheets.
- Extract Outsourced Items and research their costing.
- Prepare outsourcing packages.
- Analyze sheet metal costs and feasibility of fabrication.
- Complete piece-work Estimates.
- Work with SolidWorks
- Import and transform 3d model file formats.
- Create fabrication drawings for vendors.
- Extract Engineering BOMs
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred – Generalist
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Strong Excel skills (Organize, scrub and export data)
- Experience with 3D models and manufacturing drawings is required.
- Office software literate preferred: Outlook, word, Adobe Acrobat
- Spatial aptitude is important (cognitive ability to visualize geometric shapes).
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and a passion for learning. Software Training and Technical Training are available for the right candidate.
- Master the French language and the English (communications with suppliers from the United States).
