Position Summary
The Copywriter is responsible for writing engaging and targeted content for Tourism Whistler’s email program. They will also provide copy writing support for collateral and advertising campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
- Works with the Specialist, Email Marketing to develop email newsletters, providing targeted, relevant content to reach geographic and psychographic segmented audiences
- Proactively seek relevant content for Tourism Whistler newsletters that will generate interest, retention and sales amongst the Whistler Insider database
- Act as proof-reader to ensure email content is accurate, consistent and grammatically correct
- Provide copywriting support to Tourism Whistler's marketing department
- Ensures all copywriting maintains a consistent voice that is aligned with the Whistler and Tourism Whistler brands
- Passion and knowledge of Whistler, mountain resorts and the tourism industry
- Minimum 3 years’ writing experience for various media (online and print)
- Post secondary degree and/or certificate(s); Journalism degree/diploma an asset
- Proven ability to produce creative, response-driven copy across various media channels
- Experience developing copy for email campaigns using marketing software and customer relationship management programs
- Excellent business writing skills
- Exemplary language, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and handle constant change
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with an eye for detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work collaboratively in a team environment
