Calgary Contents is seeking Content Recovery Professionals to join our skilled team, ensuring damaged items are meticulously restored or safely documented and handled for replacement. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and care for our clients’ belongings are essential.
Full Job Description
The Contents Specialist is responsible for the inventory, cleaning, restoration, and storage of personal and business property impacted by disasters. This role involves working on-site at affected locations, as well as in our warehouse, handling items ranging from furniture and electronics to sentimental personal belongings.
· Inventory Management: Document, catalog, and photograph contents during pack-outs, ensuring accurate inventory of all items.
· Contents Handling: Pack, transport, and unpack damaged items with care to prevent further damage.
· Cleaning & Restoration: Perform detailed cleaning, deodorization, and restoration of various items, including furniture, textiles, and electronics.
· On-Site Assessment: Work directly at damaged properties to identify recoverable items and coordinate the removal process.
· Client Communication: Collaborate with customers to understand the value and importance of their belongings and provide regular updates.
· Storage Management: Organize and maintain contents storage areas to ensure efficient retrieval and handling of restored items.
· Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, insurance adjusters, and subcontractors to meet deadlines and restoration goals.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in hazardous conditions.
· Technology Use: Use inventory management software or apps to document the status and location of contents.
· Quality Control: Ensure all contents are cleaned and restored to pre-loss conditions, or flagged appropriately for replacement when restoration is not possible.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Driver's license with a clean abstract.
- 5 Ton Driving: 1 year (required)
- Preference to those individuals with Class 3
- Willing to work periodic overtime.
- Physical Labor is required for this position - moving contents, loading & unloading of truck.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
- Ability to work independently
Special consideration will be given to those individuals with previous restoration or moving experience.
