Job Description

The Black Community Resource Centre (BCRC) is seeking a dynamic and passionate Communications & Social Media Intern to join our team and support the development of engaging digital content across our platforms. This position is perfect for students who are passionate about community work, creative storytelling, digital media, and brand promotion and who want to use their skills to raise awareness, engage youth, and make a real impact in the lives of Black communities across Quebec.

Reporting to the Managing Director the Communications and Social Media Officer will support internal and external communications, visual storytelling, and content strategy. You will also assist with documenting community events, coordinating digital campaigns, and strengthening BCRC’s online presence.

As a Communications & Social Media Intern, you will play a key role in helping us raise awareness, rebrand our organization, and engage with youth in our community. You will be responsible for launching a marketing campaign, redefining the organization’s public image, and building our presence both online and in person. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in nonprofit marketing, branding, and community engagement.

Qualifications

This position is created specifically for applicants to the 2025 Canada Summer Jobs program, and all applicants must meet eligibility guidelines as specified by Service Canada in order to be considered for the above position.

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protections has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act And legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations (international students on a work/study permit are not eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program)
