Position Description
The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus invites applications for a fixed term part-time College Lecturer, teaching in the Equine Care and Management Associate Diploma Program. This position is covered by the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) Unit 2. This appointment will begin at the end of August 2025 and will end in December 2025. The position is based at the Ridgetown Campus, in the municipality of Chatham-Kent, 200km southwest of the University’s main campus in Guelph
Position Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of work experience in the equine industry. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience in the equine industry may be considered.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop presentations for diploma students.
- An ability to incorporate relevant, practical and applied experiences into teaching methods.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and internet applications.
- Demonstrated record of diplomacy, teamwork, and time management.
Preference Given to Candidates With
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with a commitment to student success.
- A related professional designation or industry recognized certification.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Quality and Student Success, the College Lecturer will be responsible for teaching and delivering the course material, as well as the necessary preparation and grading of course materials and assessments. The College Lecturer will also provide student support in a timely fashion, answering student questions and inquiries regarding the course.

There are two (2) lecture hours and two (2) lab hours per week. There is one (1) lab section. The course is scheduled as follows:
