Job summary
DART has been growing at a rapid pace over the last few years. To sustain this rapid growth, we are now committed to increase our production capacity to meet our customer requests. Reporting to the lead hand of the Machinist department.
The role and responsibility include meeting high standards of safety, quality on time and
productivity in operating/setup multi axis CNC lathes and milling machines in a fast-paced
Aerospace manufacturing environment. Selected candidate must be flexible to work on 8hr
and/or 12 hour shifts as required.
In general, the job duties include:
- Set-up and operate CNC machines
- Follow procedures; Read and interpret drawings
- Read and create G code on the program
- Perform visual inspection
- Create tooling, jigs and fixtures
- Inspect, measure & QC parts machined on the multi-axis CNC mill and lathe
- Make minor program modifications
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions for adjustments or repairs.
- Participate in production planning
- Other task and duties as required by supervisor
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field preferred
- Machinist license an asset
- Experience in aerospace industry an asset
- Ability to work well in a team with a minimum of guidance
- Ability to work in a lean manufacturing environment
