,Senior CNC Machinist:
Archer Precision Inc. is a leading custom manufacturing company, specializing in complex CNC machining. Our company is searching for a qualified and reliable CNC Machinist. A successful applicant will have more than four years of experience in a similar role with experience setting up CNC mills and lathes. He or she will be responsible for editing programmes, setting up and troubleshooting the CNC machining centers, mentoring the younger team members and improving the efficiency of the shop.
CNC Machinist responsibilities:
- Operating CNC Mills and Lathes
- Monitoring machining operations
- Performing in-process checks using a variety of inspection tools and techniques to ensure parts conform to technical drawing
- Inputting measured dimensions into a Quality Management System
- Adjustment of tool offsets as necessary to maintain part tolerances
- Performing minor machine maintenance on a regular basis (refilling fluids, cleaning, and removing chips from the machine)
- Setting up and trouble shooting CNC machining centers
- Mentoring the junior staff as their skills increase
- Performing various other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.
CNC Machinist qualifications and skills:
The position requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to tasks completed on time. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. The position will generally be task-oriented, with the requirement for tasks to be completed according to company policies and practices. Clear communication skills are necessary, to allow for collaboration with supervisor and manufacturing staff.
- Strong attention to detail
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed, and plan the best sequence of operations
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planing, drilling, precision grinding, and other operations
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- 4 or more years of experience setting up CNC machining centers.
- Competency in using a variety of inspection equipment such as calipers, pins, micrometers, height gauge, etc.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within set deadlines
- Punctuality and Reliability
- Experience Fanuc controls an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
